Local Leagues

Bromsgrove & District Pool League

I also run the Bromsgrove league website, where matches are played on a Thursday evening. Redditch has two sides playing in their Premier Division; the side I play for, Real Ale Madrid, top the standings at the half-way stage. We are hoping to bring the title back to Redditch, for what I believe will be the first time.

Worcester Pool League

Worcester run their pool league on Tuesday nights, with Summer and Winter competitions. Some of the top sides in Division One also compete in the Worcestershire Inter-League competition and have progressed to the knockout stages of the national competition for league sides.

Kidderminster & District Pool League

Kidderminster's local league is played on Thursday nights. They also have a side in the Worcestershire Inter-League competition and have started to increase their representation in our Premier Division.

Regional Competitions and Associations

Worcestershire County Pool Association

Worcestershire participate in Region 5 of the National County competition and have just had the most successful season in their history. The Men's A and B teams will be going to Great Yarmouth early in 2010, after winning their respective sections; the B's are managed by our very own Chairman, Lester Crook, and were unbeaten on their way to a first ever regional title. We have several representatives in the Men's teams, as well as a healthy presence in both Ladies and Youth sides.

Worcestershire Inter-League

The W.C.P.A. also organise an Inter-League competition for Worcestershire, which attracts representative teams from some of the leagues in our area. Redditch currently has an A and a B side in the competition; the A side recovered from a slow start to finish 4th in this years standings. We are hoping to improve on that in 2010 and get back to Great Yarmouth again.

National Associations

English Pool Association (E.P.A.)

The E.P.A is the governing body for World Rules competitions in England and are the association that our league is affiliated with. They organise competitions at regional and national levels, that our players are eligible to compete in. Currently, two local players are members of the national squad - Dan Brazil is part of the Under-21 side and Brandon Manchip is in the Youth team.

Pool Federation of Wales (P.F.W.)

The P.F.W is the governing body for World Rules pool in Wales. Zach Taylor is currently a member of the Welsh Under-21 squad and represented them at the 2009 World Championships.

Professional Bodies and Organisations

World Eight-Ball Pool Federation (W.E.P.F.)

The international governing body for World Rules pool, who organise the annual
World Championships and World Masters in Blackpool.

European Eight-Ball Pool Federation (E.E.B.P.F.)

This federation was established to try and develop pool between all of the member organisations in Europe.

International Professional Pool Players Association (I.P.A.)

The I.P.A. Tour is a series of events held throughout the year, and the top 64 ranked players at the end of the season are classified as Professionals for the following year. Dan Brazil of Millsbrough Hotshots competed in the 2009 Tour, finishing 88th in his debut season after several Last 64 finishes in Tour events.
